Many of us would like to work alongside other health-care professionals in hospitals, medical spas, and clinical settings, but one major hurdle is the lack of appropriate medical terminology in the post-consultation documentation. We therapists are VERY skilled at what we do, however many massage schools choose to focus less on the medical vocabulary necessary to effectually "rub elbows" with Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Medical Doctors, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and many others. This lack of information also keeps our hands tied from billing insurance companies when we perform Medical Massage as prescribed by any of the aforementioned healthcare professionals. This course is designed not only to refresh students' knowledge with basic muscular nomenclature and planes of movement, but will prepare the students for writing objective based documents to be used to apply for research grants, bill insurance companies, etc.
Is often overlooked by even the most experienced massage therapists. It is the ultimate marketing tool and it has more variations than a swiss army knife. This four credit/hour course demonstrates the many ways to perform "seated massage". Students will NOT need to own a massage chair to benefit form this course. In addition to learning manual therapy, students will also study the many components of a successful chair massage event and how to increase the number clients booking followup appointments.
Is probably one of the best things we as licensed therapists can do for the mom to be. Sadly due to the lack of formal training during the general massage education not enough time is spent preparing the therapist for performing pre-natal nor post-natal massage. Students will learn the several ways to approach safe massage during this most delicate time. No equipment is required, but students WILL learn best practices as well as safety protocols to ensure that mom and baby are as relaxed as possible.

Providing the best care possible for seniors doesn't stop with just one general course in geriatrics! According to the American Massage Therapy Association's 18th Annual Consumer Survey, approximately 9 million people over the age of 55 had a total of 39 million massages in the previous 12 months. The primary reason this demographic received massage was for medical purposes. Considering the fact that people are CHOOISING a more holistic approach to medical care, I urge you to adapt your current practice to include a more medical focus.
This particular CE course is designed to increase and enhance professional knowledge, skills, and competence in the practice of massage therapy.
